Set in more than 360 hectares, Bishop Burton College is the home of vocational education in the region. As the number one land-based college in the country, the college specialises in subjects related to, and associated with agriculture. As a centre of vocational excellence in both agriculture and equine, the college offers first class, first choice hands on learning. 

Over £70m has been invested in the college and its facilities over the last eight years, making it the premier destination for anyone wanting to secure specialist qualifications.

The College offers courses spanning entry level through to Masters degree programmes, across a wide range of subject areas, including; agriculture, animal management, applied science, art, design and fashion, business and management, construction, childcare,  engineering, equine, floristry, food, health and social care, horticulture, public services, sport, teacher training and tourism.

In partnership with the University of Hull, the Royal Agricultural University, Leeds Beckett and the University of Huddersfield, we have been offering a wide range of Foundation, BSc, BA and Masters degree programmes since 1990.

The College offers local schools and colleges a wide range of activities which are aimed at making higher education more accessible to young people and their families.

Our activities include talks, tours, tasters and masterclasses across all subject areas and all include specialist talks covering topics such as student finance, the UCAS application process and what it takes to be successful when applying for university. 

Alongside our activities for schools and colleges, we hold regular open events throughout the year and regularly attend national, regional and local careers conventions, parents’ evenings at schools and options evenings.

The College can provide bespoke services to schools and colleges including specialist subject talks, both in school and at our campus, bespoke taster experiences for full year groups, individual taster experiences for students, and can act as a host centre for national campaigns such as Science Week and Vocational Qualification Day.
